How to Wet Process Coffee. Step by step presentation filmed on a smallholder coffee farm in Kapchorwa, Uganda
We look at the @coffeesciencelab brew water kit, see what's inside and then build a Magnesium base to add to the brew water. We add 2.05gm of the MG to 1lt of pure water.
We have brewed today with a 1:16 ratio of coffee and water.
15gm coffee
250ml water
1)wash your filter and then remove the water used.
2) add coffee
3) Pour 50ml of hot water using a circle pattern. Then Wait for 30 seconds (the bloom)
4) add 50ml pours till you get to 250ml. Each pour is done once the previous water has dried through.
5) enjoy
This Chemex was designed in 1941 and is still used today to brew coffee. The recipe we used is
25gm ground coffee. 400 ml 92deg water
Rinse filter.
Add coffee to filter
Pour 40ml water and slightly stir. Wait for 30 seconds for coffee to bloom
Add 120ml three times to make it to total 400ml.
Pour and enjoy.
You can play with your own ratios if you want changes in the results. It's all upto you.
Happy chemex time.
Brewing the AeroPress the traditional way.

Add coffee to Aeropress
Top up quickly to just under the 4 mark on the AeroPress (should be 220 ml) then put the tube in place to create a vacuum. This will stop the water coming out of the filter.
